Kara DioGuardi Wants Out of 'American Idol'

American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi has been trying to quit the hit Fox TV show for months, according to new US Magazine reports.
DioGuardi still hasn't heard from producers about whether she'll be judging on the next season of the talent competition, according to E!
The show ha been trying to find judges ever since Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres have announced quitting, with no new line-up yet announced.
“She went to FOX two months ago and told them she didn’t want to do another season. She did two years and thinks that’s enough,” an insider told E!
Apparently, DioGuardi remains under contract to the show and cannot look for a new job until she is released. We don't understand why she can't quit, since she reportedly has a year-to-year contract.

Shania Twain: Possibly New Judge?

Canadian singer Shania Twain has become the latest celebrity to be in talks about joining 'American Idol' as a judge.

The 44-year-old country music star is said to be in talks to sit at the judges' table on the 10th season of the hit FOX talent show.

"Shania is a huge fan of the show and she had a great time as a mentor," a source said.
The Grammy-award-winning singer was a guest judge on the show during last season's auditions in Chicago, and mentored the contestants in an episode in April.

With Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres both departing the talent search, and Kara possibly fired, the network had been pursuing a number of celebrities as potential judges, including Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and pop star Jennifer Lopez.
